Responsibilities
- Underwrite new business or renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan
- Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal and external clients. This may involve servicing key producers and clients, monitoring business acquisition and retention as well as maximising cross-selling opportunities
- Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts and portfolio management in order to achieve underwriting profitability. To ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews and peer reviews
- Prioritise and develop products within area of specialist expertise in order to improve client retention and new business. This may involve collaborating with peers within and across business lines in Europe as well as globally
- Represent and promote Chubb and maintain a permanent contact with internal colleagues as well as major clients
- Account Management: Partner / Client Management: P&L management of existing and newly acquired clients ensuring profitability, pricing adequacy, appropriate terms and conditions apply.
- Compliance & Regulation: You will ensure product integrity and compliance with all internal and external regulatory principles and guidelines, specifically including all aspects of FCA and Treating Customers Fairly. Ensuring contracts and agreements are signed, up to date, relevant and operative.
- You will set and achieve challenging Business plans for the retention, development, growth and increasing profitability of a designated panel of Key Partners / Clients and new Partners.
- Support regional and Home Office project initiatives.
- Support A&H product development and implementation.
- Support underwriting and data analytics in conjunction with global and regional digital underwriting and analytic teams to help accelerate and optimize digital distributions.
Requirements
- Considerable underwriting and market experience, preferably from within a global organisation is advantageous but not essential.
- Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the insurance market and competitors
- Solid experience of dealing with brokers and clients
- Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical skills, data management and database knowledge.
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word capabilities.
- Able to work within a team environment.
- Ability to provide quality service to clients and internal business partners.
- ACII preferred though not essential
- A Levels or higher
